Things I Love For My DOG
Dog Treats – These are great treats for my dog, Sarge. I keep them in a dog treats cookie jar and use them for when we take him outside and he has lots of distractions. These treats keep him close by and aware that he needs to listen to us. They’re also great for when it’s time to put him in his crate because we want him to associate his crate with something good and not as a punishment. They’re also manufactured in the USA.
Iams Proactive Health Puppy Dry Dog Food – What to feed your puppy comes down to a personal preference and also how well your puppy responds to his food. We have fed this dog food to our puppy Sarge since we got him as at 8 weeks old. He loves the taste of it and digests it very well.
Neater Feeder with Leg Extensions – This is the perfect feeder for our dog, Sarge. He’s got so much energy, he’s like a bull in a china shop. But this feeder is created in a way that prevents any food or water from getting on our hardwood floors. It’s awesome!
ChuckIt! Sport Launcher Dog Ball Thrower – This is a God-send for our dog. He has endless energy and sometimes we aren’t up for taking him for a long walk. This ball thrower will throw the ball WAY further than if you were to throw it yourself. The further the ball goes, the harder your dog will run to get it and the quicker he will get out his energy. It’s also created to pick the ball back up without having to bend over. Genius! We use it every day.
Potty Training Bells – These bells hang on the door for your dog to use. He just nudges his nose on the bells when he has to ‘go’ and they’re loud enough for us to hear him anywhere in the house. He learned how to use it within 1 day! Smart dog. However, our cat now uses it too. He thinks he’s also a dog.
Dog Travel Bag – We call this Sarge’s diaper bag. But in all seriousness, it really comes in handy whenever we take him places. It carries his food, water, toys, poop bags, a blanket for him to lay on, and whatever else he may need.
Pet Stain & Odor Eliminator – This gentle spray is great for pet ‘accidents’ around the house. It is enzyme activated and eliminates stains, odors, & residue.
Vittles Vault Pet Food Storage Container – If you have a big dog or multiple dogs, this container is great. It’s heavy duty, keeps food fresh and holds up to 50 lbs of food.
Large Dog Crate – This crate is a lifesaver. When Sarge was a puppy he would get into everything if we didn’t have him in the crate. Now, he’s fine to roam the house when we’re gone. But he still prefers to sleep in his crate when it’s time for nigh-night. It’s his ‘safe’ place to settle down.
Portable Pet Play Pen – Another lifesaver is this playpen. We used it the first couple of months after we first got Sarge as an 8 week old puppy. We kept it in the living room where we hung out most of the time. Until he was potty trained, this worked out great! It’s also awesome to bring with us whenever we bring Sarge to a friend’s house or other places. It’s a good chill-out time for him.
Things I Love For My Cats
Dr. Elsey’s Premium Clumping Cat Litter – Having 2 cats, we’ve tried so many different types and brands of cat litter. But either the scent was too strong, or the clumping wasn’t great or it created too much dust. Then we found this litter and it works great, it doesn’t have a scent, and it doesn’t create a dust cloud. I also love that you can get it in smaller bag sizes because we have one cat upstairs and one cat downstairs.
Blue Buffalo Weight Control Natural Adult Dry Cat Food – This cat food helps with controlling my cats’ weight and they both absolutely love the taste!
Large Cat Tower – This cat tower is super sturdy and great quality. We bought this for our cat Max to be able to escape from our “I want to play ALL the time!” Labrador Retriever. Max can jump up on the higher levels where Sarge can’t get to him.
Things We Love For Our Household
Gain Flings – We’ve tried lots of different laundry detergents including powders. But once we found Gain Flings, we knew we had found the right fit for us. They come in pods. It’s very easy to just throw a pod in with the wash and let it do it’s thing. Our clothes come out smelling nice but not with an overwhelming scent.
Digital Bedroom Alarm Clock – We prefer that our son not have his cell phone in his room after bedtime. Therefore, this alarm clock works perfectly for waking him up in the mornings.
Noise Cancelling Bluetooth Headphones – My husband and son each have a pair of these headphones for cutting the grass. I had to get them each a pair because they’d fight over the one set. Being that we have 10 acres of grass to cut, they’ve gotten a lot of hours of use!
Things We Love For The Kitchen
Finish Jet-Dry Aid Dishwasher Rinse & Drying Agent – Do you ever go to empty the clean dishes out of your dishwasher and they’re still soaking wet? Drives me nuts! This Finish Jet-Dry takes care of that problem. You just pour it in the little rinse-aid compartment of your dishwasher and it lasts for approximately 2 weeks. You’ll know when you need to refill it!
OXO Good Grips Stainless Cut & Serve Turner – I LOVE this turner! It’s small enough to lift cookies off of a cookie sheet but also works great for brownies, casseroles, lasagna and roasted veggies.
Seventh Generation Dish Liquid Soap – I don’t know why, but I’m very particular about my dish liquid. Yes, I use a dishwasher, but I like to wash the dishes before I put them in the dishwasher. I guess you could say I’m a little compulsive about clean dishes. I like this soap for it’s light, refreshing scent, how well it cleans, and it’s pretty bottle.
Gorilla Grip Cutting Boards – I personally don’t like the big bulky cutting boards. I just want to grab a good durable cutting board out of the cabinet and clean it off and put it away when I’m done. These are great because they come in 3 different sizes depending on the size of your cutting job.
Porcelain Fluted Bowl Set – This is a great quality, colorful set of bowls for everyday use. They’re great for cereal, ice cream, salad, soup, etc. We have our own set and I got my nephew a set when he moved away to college.
Stainless Steel Electric Percolator Coffee Maker – Keurigs are great and convenient but there’s nothing like freshly ground coffee made in a percolator. We use this one on the weekends. Mmm, coffee!
Nutribullet Pro – I love my Nutribullet for making protein smoothies. I use it almost every day. It’s big enough to make a nice size smoothie but small enough to not take up space on the counter. My husband uses it to beat eggs for scrambling.
Things I Love For Personal & Beauty
Vanicream Gentle Facial Cleanser – My Dermatologist highly recommended this line of products. It’s very affordable. It’s also very gentle and safe for your skin. Now that I’ve gotten a little bit older, I see the lines and the sun damage, so I’m trying to be a lot more diligent about taking care of my face.
Vanicream Vaniply Ointment – Recommended to me by my Dermatologist for dry, rough patches, such as the dryness on my forehead from sun damage as well as my elbows.
Vanicream Moisturizing Skin Cream – Another one recommended by my Dermatologist, I use this skin cream on my face to keep it moisturized. All of the Vanicream products are free of dyes, fragrance, masking fragrance, lanolin, parabens and formaldehyde.
Jergens Original Scent Dry Skin Lotion – I love a nice scented body lotion that’s not overpowering but leaves me feeling freshly clean. I’ve been using Jergens Original Scent Lotion (cherry almond scent) for years and years! It’s a great moisturizer for my arms and legs.
Lash Princess False Lash Effect Mascara – So I was a Great Lash Mascara user for years and years. But then I saw this Lash Princess Mascara featured in a beauty segment on the Today Show. I decided to give it a try. I LOVE it! It’s got a nice long thin applicator to coat your eyelashes evenly and it truly does make your eyelashes look thicker and longer.
Makeup Eyebrush Set – These sets in the stores can get super pricey. I found my set on Amazon and it’s very affordable. I also love the quality. The set includes 7 brushes for applying your eye makeup – angled shader, blending brush, angled detailer, detailed pencil, small shader, classic shader, & precise shader.
Loreal Eyeshadow Palette – I love this palette of 10 earthy shades of brown and beige eyeshadows. Perfect for my complexion. Terri and I both use this eyeshadow.
Mini Handheld Portable Fan – You guys, this fan is everything! Here in Maryland, the heat and humidity in the summer can be brutal! These little powerful fans can fit in your purse and are super handy when it gets too hot. Terri, our friends and I all have at least one!
Waterproof Phone Holder – If you’re active and like to be near water, this waterproof phone holder is an absolute necessity. I’ve dropped my super expensive cell phone into a lake and was left speechless. If I had one of these phone holders, it wouldn’t have gotten wet and it would have floated. Now my entire family each has one. And it’s come in handy more than once!
Things We Love For Safety & Security
Car Safety Hammers – These things are great for peace of mind when you’re driving in your car. God forbid you swerve off the road and end up in a body of water, you can grab this hammer (I keep mine in my center console) and you can break the glass of your window and also cut your seat belt off of you if it’s stuck. Then you can escape your car to safety. Last time we were driving over the Bay Bridge, I decided to order these!
Things We Love For Organization
SCOUT Bags – I LOVE these SCOUT bags. I have my own and I’ve given many as gifts. These bags are durable, stylish (so many different patterns), practical and fun! They are a Washington DC based business, which I love since I live very close to DC. They have grocery bags, tote bags, travel bags, gift bags, lunch boxes, shoulder bags, coolers, storage bins and so much more! I use the extra large tote bag all the time!
Things We Love For Our Health
Cactaki 32 oz Water Bottle – Drinking at least 64 ounces of water is essential for staying healthy and hydrated. This water bottle is awesome because it’s sleek, easy to drink out of, and has time and ounce markers so you can track how much you’re drinking. I carry it with me everywhere I go.
